Unleash Your Creativity and Explore STEAM!

Join the Girl Scouts Powderpuff Pinewood Derby!

The Pinewood Derby is one of the most popular and special events in Scouting. Like all successful activities, it requires planning and preparation, but its value in fun and strengthening family relationships has been proven over the years.

The benefits, for Scout and adult, are discovered through the derby process itself: strengthening bonds, sharing responsibility, developing teamwork, learning new skills, exercising creativity, building sportsmanship, and making new friends.

Pinewood derby cars are simply small models of specified dimensions; created, carved, and assembled by the scouts, under the guidance of their parents or other family members. The cars are gravity powered and run down a regulation track.
