Girl Scout Badges
Girl Scout badges are a type of patch that Girl Scouts can earn to show their achievements and accomplishments, and to demonstrate their knowledge or skills in a particular topic. Badges are created by GSUSA and each level of Girl Scout has its own badge shape and color. For example, Brownie badges are triangles, Junior badges are circles, and Cadette badges are diamond-shaped. Badges are worn on the front of a vest, sash, or tunic.

There are hundreds of ways for Girl Scouts to earn badges, including by trying new skills such as building a robot, learning photography, or writing a book. Other badges can be earned for activities such as community service, or for showing extraordinary heroism. Badge requirements can be found on the Badge Explorer or the Volunteer Toolkit. Once a girl has completed the five steps of a badge, with three options for each step, she should be able to demonstrate her knowledge or skill in that topic.
