Day Camp is run strictly by volunteers and is open to all girls in our Service Unit who are Kindergarten thru 12th grade in the 2023-2024 school year. It is held at Camp Elk River and consists of approximately 8 Camper Units with 13-17 girls in each Unit and 1 Unit called the "Caddies-To-Be" that complete the Program Aide Training. 8th -12th Grade Girls are utilized as Volunteers in roles that help them learn and display Leadership skills. In addition to the day program, Girls entering 4th grade and up in the fall (2024-2025 school year) may participate in an optional overnight camp-out on Wednesday, July 24th.
Girl Scouts in the below grades during the 2023-2024 school year, are designated as follows:
Kindergarten - 5th Grade = Camper
6th Grade = Caddie-To-Be" - Program Aide Training
7th - 9th Grade = Caddie
10th - 12th Grade = Unit Assistant
Sibling Care! We are planning to offer sibling care at camp for boys and girls ages 3 – 10 (must be potty trained) of adults who are 4-day or 2-day volunteers at camp. Siblings may attend camp only on the days that their parents are volunteering. They will spend the day in their Unit with either Service Unit or Council staff. Preschool age girls and all boys do not need to be registered members of Girl Scouts. School-age girls must be registered members of Girl Scouts and will be placed into a Camper unit.
