Girl Scouts of the USA
According to our council,
"adult volunteers are the key to the success of the Girl Scout
Movement. Trained volunteers who understand the Girl Scout leadership
development program provide girls with fun, safe, and quality
experiences, as well as an opportunity to develop into successful
leaders." Training ensures that you
understand the duties of the position you
have agreed to perform and understand the Girl Scout organization.
As a volunteer, you are
responsible for completing the appropriate training
program. It
is recommended that training be completed within four months after the
first day of appointment to a volunteer position.
To ensure that volunteers
gain the
knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully deliver a meaningful
and safe Girl Scout experience, various types of training are
available, including leader training, safety training, outdoor
training, and enrichment training.
