- Color A Smile
Color A Smile collects crayon
drawings from school children. Every month they distribute these
drawings to nursing homes, Meals on Wheels Programs, and individuals
all across the country. Their goal is to make people smile!
- St. Jude's Ranch for Children
Help St.
Jude's Ranch for Children with
their Campbell's Soup Label Program by
sending in UPCs from eligible
Campbell's Soup Products (even Goldfish Crackers,
V8 Juices,
Prego Pasta Sauces, and other foods qualify!). For every
1,500,000
eligible
Campbell's Soup
Product family UPCs they receive, Campbell's will purchase a new Dodge
minivan for the Ranch. The minivans are used to transport children to
and from school, appointments, and extracurricular activities. Meeting
the transportation needs of nearly 80 children of all ages can be a
daunting task requiring many vans. It is only with your participation
in this program that they can continue to provide for this need.
- Make a Child Smile (MACS)
The MACS
mission is "to provide emotional and financial support to
families whose children suffer from chronic or life-threatening
illnesses and also give those who visit the MACS website the
opportunity to participate by sending mail to the children."
"Hundreds of 'net surfers, schools, service organizations, girls/boys
scouts and church groups use the Make A Child Smile site as a
philanthropic project where they can send cards, letters and small
gifts to the featured children and their siblings through postal mail."
- My Stuff Bags Foundation
The My
Stuff Bags Foundation provides comfort and a message of hope
to
abused and neglected children entering crisis and foster care through
its unique program, My Stuff Bags. Touch the heart
of these traumatized
children who arrive at crisis centers and foster homes with no "stuff"
of their own.
- Project Linus
It's easy to help Project Linus. Simply make a
blanket
and donate it to your local chapter of Project Linus or Project Linus
National Headquarters. Your blanket will be given to a child in need.
Click on "Be a Blanketeer."
- Caps for Kids
"Providing needy children with cozy hats to
keep them warm is what Caps
for Kids is all about. Nearly one million
caps, along with other children's accessories, have been knitted and
crocheted by volunteers since the program began. The hats are given to
non-profit, non denominational agencies in the communities of the
donors."
- DoSomething.org
DoSomething.org offers grants,
including the Plum Youth Grant which awards $500 weekly to youths 25 and under from
across the U.S. and Canada. (For the Plum Youth Grant, see Grant Eligibility Guidelines for details.)
