Hello Wayzata Girl Scout Families,
As you may have heard, on May 7, 2020, Girl Scouts River Valleys announced the cancellation of all in-person summer camps for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This cancellation includes Wayzata Service Unit Girl Scout Day Camp that was scheduled for July 27-30, 2020.
Girl Scouts River Valleys must ensure the health and safety of girls and volunteers and this decision was made with that priority in mind. Girl Scout camp is a place where we are often in close quarters – we cook outdoors together, play games together, and create memories together. Social distancing is not the norm at Girl Scout camp.
We are very sad that we will not get to spend this summer with everyone at camp and send our deepest gratitude to those of you that had volunteered to be there with us for the girls!. We are currently looking for ways to maintain the 'camp experience' over the summer. All Families currently registered for 2020 Wayzata Day camp should watch for an email by May 18 with details on the processing of refunds and camp at home activities. We were just informed of this cancellation and need some time to develop a plan, so please accept our apologies if we do not respond to your email immediately.
Thank you for being a part of our camp community. We hope to see you in the summer of 2021 at camp. Our dates are already reserved, so please put July 26-29, 2021 on your calendar. Registration will occur in March.
Take good care of each other!
